Kyocera to launch new printer consumable products
Recently, Isato Watanabe, Head of the Second Sales Department of the Print Devices Division of Kyocera (China) Trading Co., Ltd. was interviewed by the media about his views on the Chinese market and the new printheads that Kyocera will be launching in 2023.
He said, digital inkjet printing is also developing rapidly in China as a result of the country's focus on environmental protection. The current market demand for industrial print heads is further increasing.
Specifically, digitalisation in the advertising and ceramics sectors is relatively mature, while the textile sector has been growing rapidly since the last few years, the carton sector since last year, and the label sector is showing strong momentum from this year. Many manufacturers are already using Kyocera printheads in the textile and POD sectors, but digitisation is still a work in progress.
Kyocera expects to launch the EX Series inkjet printheads during this year. This product achieves highly competitive product performance and price in the market today. It can be used mainly in the textile, carton and POD sectors, and is currently advancing in evaluation and development after installation on machines. This printhead has three main design features compared to previous products.
Firstly, the EX Series printheads feature the latest version of the integral piezoelectric brake for easy installation and more accurate printing. Secondly, the EX Series printheads feature a piezoelectric brake in a high-strength box frame construction for greater safety. Finally, the EX series printheads have developed an auxiliary circulation flow path near the straight-through nozzle hole for a true circulation head.

Talking about the future development of Kyocera printheads, Mr. Isato Watanabe said: "In terms of printheads, I think there are several directions in terms of the characteristics required by the market: firstly, in existing applications, there is a need for higher productivity, higher image quality and a wider range of inks; secondly, in the area of new applications, the durability of printheads for special inks; and secondly, printing under special conditions.
Kyocera will continue to improve its existing products, develop and manufacture new products, and further enhance its technical support activities in response to these demands and expectations.
In addition, the Kyocera Group has been engaged in CSR activities on the environmental front. In recent years, China has also issued many regulations on environmental protection, especially in the printing industry, where various requirements such as the reduction of volatile substances and waste have become increasingly stringent.
With these requirements, I believe that everyone in the traditional printing industry is working hard on various improvement activities. Considering the processes and procedures of traditional printing, perhaps the transition to digital is the easiest means of environmental protection.
From the point of view of job burden, digitalisation can make a significant contribution to the printing industry by enabling a reduction in process flow for both traditional and inkjet printing. Based on it, Kyocera will continue to improve and develop printheads in order to keep up with the high image quality and speed of conventional printing and to meet market demand, and to promote the digitalisation of the printing industry.
